During the 1979 NASCAR Winston Cup season, Darrell Waltrip drove this #88 Gatorade Chevrolet Monte Carlo for DiGard Racing. That year, Waltrip had seven (7) wins, five (5) pole positions, 19 top-five and 22 top-ten finishes. In one of NASCAR's closest title chases, Waltrip finished second, just 11 points shy of winning the 1979 Winston Cup Title.
